Specialist Senior - Engineer


About the role
Our Engineers manage the design work through to implementation, are strong problem solvers and provide solution concepts. We operate in an agile, continuous delivery environment and are looking for skilled and experienced professionals who can immediately contribute. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Data Analytics
  • Use data acquisition to underpin security use cases
  • Create Splunk dashboards and visualizations to drive security enablement
  • Solution Design and development
  • Design validation and data on-boarding
  • Continuous integration building, accountability and support incident triage
  • Lead from the front and develop an in-depth knowledge of the product
  • Management of our cloud hosted and on resources and services.
  • Leverage knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to change standard Splunk dashboard styles to produce a professional and custom look
  • Manage access and liaise with existing IAM processes.
  • Manage server/storage deployments including release process, image management, backup/restore, HA/DR
  • Manage monitoring environment using Splunk, and associated tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems, resolve operational issues, and interact with vendors
  • Interface directly with clients to comprehend requirements and expected outcomes

About you

You will have a minimum of 4 years development experience, with demonstrated experience in design and implementation. Your knowledge and experience includes:

  • Splunk and/or AWS
  • Good understanding of Networking including IP / Routing / Firewalls / Proxies
  • Hands on system operations of Linux RHEL/CentOs/Fedora, Windows Server 20XX
  • Scripting: Shell Scripts, Batch files, JAVA
  • RDP / SSH / SCP
  • 1+ year of Splunk network security, system security, or supporting Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Experience with creating Splunk dashboards, searches, and visualizations
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
  • Knowledge of Cyber security concepts
  • Ability to produce high quality work product
  • Ansible and/or Terraform (nice to have)
  • Hands on knowledge of JIRA / Stash / Python / Bit Bucket
  • Experience of using Amazon Web Services
  • Development skills or interest in Vagrant, Docker, CoreOS
  • Advanced scripting hands on with Powershell, Bash, Batch files, Python
