Resource Management – Senior Manager (10 Months Contract role)

About the role

This is a very exciting contract role to lead the National Resource Management team with the Deloitte Private business. Deloitte Private (or DPR) provides audit, taxation, consulting and business advisory services to high net worth individuals, families and private companies.

As the Resource Management Lead for this group you will report directly to the National Resource Management Director and will have five staff reporting to you. You will be responsible for driving the Resource Management strategy for the DPR teams from the BAU related tasks (process improvement, reporting improvement and analysis, driving the RM planning processes and providing Resource Management recommendations, etc) through the implementation of Resource Management practice for one of the DPR teams.

We are looking for someone that has strong experience in related roles, experience in leading a team and who has been part of resource management / project implementation / change management projects. Empowered to work with the leaders of our business you will be in the unique position to drive the team to provide business recommendations and solutions.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Strategically oversee the resource and engagement planning including strategic clients, new wins, top talent, engagement outliers, etc
  • Lead the Resource Management team through creating a positive and collaborative environment where everyone can be successful
  • Develop and drive best practice Resource Management function within the Deloitte Private business
  • Continuously develop and create a shared understanding of both the Business and Resource Management strategy and how it applies to the teams with different levels of Resource Management maturity
  • Understand the business metrics and current financial results and implement strategies to assist the Resource Management team to optimise staff utilisation
  • Work in collaboration with the other P&P, Talent Development, Recruitment and Finance teams
  • Attend and drive Resource Management related meetings with the DPR Leadership and Resource Management teams
  • Work on the Resource Management implementation for one of the DPR teams from understanding the business needs, proposing solutions and implementing those solutions.
  • Handle and resolve complex and ambiguous situations for stakeholders
  • Analyse and deliver Management Reporting including high level summaries, dashboards and identification of recurring themes/issues/trends

About your experience

We are looking for someone that is passionate about resource management, extremely proactive with a “can do” and positive attitude. You will demonstrate ability to develop strong client relationships, ensure client collaboration, teamwork and optimal communication in order to deliver outstanding service.

  • Strong Resource Management, Project / Change Management experience (or related experience)
  • Strong relationship-building, mediating and influencing skills
  • Highly motivated, confident and solutions driven
  • Ability to provide and interpret analysis of metrics and financial information such as Utilisation, Revenue, Gross Margin.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while managing conflicting priorities
  • Have a strong ability to plan, organise, direct, supervise and control project/assignment resources, in order to efficiently and methodically meet objectives and satisfy needs
  • Have excellent listening and analytical skills necessary to resolve intricate staffing issues
  • Microsoft Word & PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel – advanced
