Senior Quantitative Analyst

About the Opportunity

We are seeking exceptional candidates with prior experience in financial modelling, derivative valuations and risk management to join our rapidly growing team. You are likely to have a mathematical / statistical, finance or commerce related degree and prior experience working in financial modelling, financial analysis, or a role where you have demonstrated your analytical problem solving skills.

This is a client facing role and therefore you will have the chance to also build your communication and client management skills. You will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team and help shape our team culture for the future.

Some of the work you will be undertaking includes:

  • Designing, building and testing financial models to support our clients’ decision making processes
  • Valuation of derivatives and other financial instruments
  • Working alongside colleagues in other teams such as audit, assurance and advisory as part of multi-disciplinary teams to provide our clients with value-driven insights
  • Utilising your communication skills to present outcomes and recommendations

The role is based in Deloitte’s Melbourne office as part of a Melbourne based team supported by a large national and global team, support and training.

About You

As the successful candidate, you should ideally demonstrate:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in any of Mathematics / Statistics, Actuarial Science, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Experience working in financial modelling, financial analysis, 2 to 5 years’ experience
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical problem solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Intermediate level of VBA
