Senior Manager - Resource Management


About the opportunity:

The Senior Manager role partners with the business, as a trusted advisor, to lead strategic operational decisions concerning management of the Business Unit’s workforce. To do this, the Senior Manager is the operational lead of the Resource Management function for the Business Unit. This role is focused on ensuring the Resource Management Team is strategically scheduling and forward planning resources and engagements to enable the business to analyse, react and mobilise solutions to mitigate risks and issues. Resource Management also assists the business by providing a balance between its decisions that impact our people, our clients and our operational performance. Ultimately, we aim to have the right people scheduled on the right projects, balancing their abilities along with opportunities for development whilst incorporating Deloitte’s strive for client service excellence and engagement profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic oversight of resource and engagement planning including; strategic clients, major new wins/proposals, top talent, engagement outliers
  • Mentor, coach and trusted advisor to professional staff and the leadership
  • Management of complexity and ambiguity
  • Identification of potential underperformers
  • Identification of high talent
  • Headcount Forecast and Workforce Planning including Hot Skills matrix
  • Contribution to short and long term recruitment recommendations
  • Oversight of the preparation, analysis and delivery of reporting handled by the RM Team
  • Analysis and delivery of Management Reporting including; high level summaries, dashboards and identification of themes/issues/trends in the data reported on
  • Oversee the performance management activities for the direct reports in your team
  • Management of communications and flow of key messages to wider Resource Management Teams

Technical

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and life cycles.
  • Understanding of professional services environment with a strong depth of knowledge in resource management and career development.
  • In-depth knowledge of the internal business unit structure, leadership and strategy
