Quality & Risk - Compliance Consultant


This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in regulatory and compliance management, and obtain exposure to the entire suite of the firm’s offerings and operations. You would be positioned within the Conduct team and develop a niche and specialised knowledge, as well as learn valuable consultation and communication skills, and gain knowledge on critical quality and risk matters within a large professional services organisation.

About the opportunity:
The conduct team sits team within Quality & Risk and is an interactive, fast-paced team, providing critical support to ensure the firm, partners and staff comply with its entire regulatory, professional and conduct obligations.

We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual to join the team to consult on a wide range of regulatory compliance, conduct and governance areas.

About the role
The successful candidate will work alongside and report to the Quality & Risk Managers and Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of queries including responding to internal and client facing teams
  • Ongoing monitoring of compliance with various internal policies of the firm
  • Assisting the Conduct Team on policy and regulatory matters, including risk assessments, monitoring and reporting
  • Assisting the Conduct team develop and deliver relevant training across the firm
  • Development of tools and templates to support the firm’s application of various compliance policies.

About you:
Ideally, you will have approximately 3 years’ experience in some of the following areas:

• Risk Management
• Financial services/AFSL compliance
• Anti-bribery and corruption
• Compliance management
• Regulatory Affairs
• Economic / trade sanctions
• Anti-money laundering (AML)

You will also:

  • Be able to communicate and collaborate with other professionals within Deloitte
  • Have strong communication skills both written and verbal, have strong analytical skills and be comfortable in interpreting and applying rules to a range of circumstances
  • Be able to see the big picture while also having a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to understand complex issues and escalate where required to senior team members.
