Post-M&A Integration - Manager & Associate Director

Following a sustained period of growth in our M&A Integration & Separation team and a significant pipeline of deals ahead, a couple of opportunities have become available for experienced consultants to join our Sydney office.

You’ll be joining a team of innovative and passionate people to create and implement solutions that meet our clients' toughest challenges in a market that is undergoing unprecedented disruption and reform. Whether our clients are buying or selling, merging or divesting, or carving out a business for an IPO, we support transactions with a focus on deal value creation and protection. We provide leading capabilities and experience to deliver exceptional M&A results.

About the Opportunity

This opportunity will require you to link strategic and financial advice to tangible outcomes as you work directly with the most senior leaders within Australia’s market leading organisations.

You will be involved in a range of projects including:

  • Supporting Corporate and Private Equity clients in the assessment of potential merger synergies and carve-outs, and stand-alone performance improvements
  • Assisting clients in understanding the true strategic and operational capability of acquisitions and investment companies
  • Planning and implementation of integration and separation projects as the result of M&A activity (including Day One readiness and execution)

In addition, you will also be involved with:

  • Financial analysis and modelling of the investment opportunity
  • Preparation of acquisition business cases for review by key stakeholders
  • Execution of the transaction, including the negotiation of Transitional Service Agreements
  • In the more senior roles available, you will coach junior staff to develop strategy recommendations and prepare compelling business cases

About You

We are looking for individuals with at least 5 years advisory/consulting experience, from tier 1 or 2 consultancy, boutique strategy consulting firm, strategy practice within Big 4, or the internal strategy function of a large corporate.

You are likely to have a finance, accounting, economics or engineering background with a related post graduate qualification or are currently studying towards a CA, CFA or MBA.

You will also have:

  • Experience in performing commercial due diligence in a transaction environment
  • Familiarity with the broader deal-oriented process and environment
  • Pragmatic commercial acumen – able to identify risks and develop solutions to manage those risks, with the ability and willingness to deal with ambiguity and change
