Government Advisory Manager

About the role
Our Advisory team applies core finance and accounting knowledge in an advisory context to assist our clients in enabling the success of their finance function. Our growing Advisory team advises large and mid-size organisations on accounting change implementation process and technology in addition to accounting advisory services on corporate transactions.

Due to significant growth in our Advisory practice working on some of the most exciting accounting change projects in Australia, we are looking to attract the next wave of advisors and leaders to Deloitte to drive service delivery and future growth. In this role, you'll be joining a team of innovative and passionate thinkers to create solutions that meet our clients' challenges. We are keen to speak with Managers who are passionate to build successful careers.

We deliver insights to CFO's and their teams utilising technology and proven methodology where possible through a range of projects, including:

  • Assessing accounting change impact on finance and business processes, including recent changes to revenue recognition and lease accounting
  • Providing detailed gap analysis on the revenue recognition implementation process, using accelerators and proven methodology
  • Providing an end-to-end lease accounting managed solution for companies implementing the changes to lease accounting, using artificial intelligence software, transition tools and lease accounting software
  • Resolving complex accounting issues on large transactions
  • Providing accounting support for deals, both during deals and post-deal integration

About you
Your role as a Manager will see you take responsibility for providing support to Partners and Directors in the delivery of client service, developing strong internal and external networks, coaching and training junior team members and managing client relations on a day to day basis in the advisory business.
You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills coupled with experience leading a team and being proactive with market development. With previous experience in Professional Services, external audit, accounting advisory, or potentially also some commercial experience within an Accounting function at a Management level, you will be able to position yourself as a trusted adviser to your clients. In addition you will require:

  • An Accounting or Finance degree
  • CA qualification or the equivalent
  • Previous exposure to finance functions or accounting policy teams would be an advantage
  • Strong technical accounting skills
