About Our Team
Deloitte’s Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) team works to assist our clients in undertaking new investment and innovation by identifying and securing government support to help realise their plans.

This involves working with clients to understand their projects, identifying how and why the government might be interested in providing funds to support the project, and then working strategically on specific funding opportunities to obtain the best grant outcome for the client.
Our team also uses its specialised knowledge to work across a range of industry sectors, supporting clients conducting R&D activities to provide insights regarding strategy to reduce the cost of their development activity, while providing insights from both a technology and corporate perspective.

The growth of our Darwin office, as part of our overall national growth strategy has created an exciting opportunity for high performing GI (Grants and Incentives) Manager with a hunger for career progression and making an impact on client businesses.

About the Role
The current role is primarily that of a GI (Grants and Incentives) Manager, but may also provide an opportunity for you to spend some time working on R&D tax incentive claims.

You will have a key role in identifying grant opportunities for existing and prospective clients, and working cooperatively with clients to develop high quality grant applications. You will be supported by experienced mentors to drive your success in this exciting and challenging role.

The role will include:

  • Maintaining quality control on assignments and projects, ensuring deadlines are being met
  • Identifying, and converting market opportunities for the grants & incentives offering, and building strong client relationships
  • Managing multiple public and private sector stakeholders
  • Managing, motivating and leading teams on complex projects
  • Provision of strategic advice on how to optimise the process of accessing government funding
  • Managing engagements and client teams ensuring quality deliverables throughout
  • Managing the administration of your client engagements, including assisting with proposals, budgeting, billing and controlling of work in progress
  • Project management
  • In addition to grant funding related work, the role may also provide an opportunity for you to work on the development of R&D tax incentive claims for clients.

About Your Experience
This Manager position will make a critical contribution to the team and the preferred candidates will:

  • Be self-driven and able to take responsibility for completion of assignments on time and within budget.
  • Display excellence and have an established track record around the preparation of submissions, proposals or other forms of corporate writing
  • Possesses strong soft skills that enable you to develop relationships with the Deloitte team, clients, and government stakeholders.
  • Have a highly developed problem solving ability, and the ability to be adaptable.
  • Have a knowledge of, and interest in public policy and the approach that governments take to assisting business investment
  • Be prepared to travel locally and interstate to undertake client assignments. As a minimum, the role will require work to be conducted in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Tasmania. Travel to other States may also be required.
