Opportunity overview
We are seeking a motivated and confident Manager to join the Finance Function Advisory practice within the Deloitte Private Commercial Advisory team in Sydney. As a Manager, you will have proven experience working in a consulting environment with a strong track record of delivering superior quality finance function advisory projects, across a range of sectors and industries.

As part of the Deloitte Private Commercial Advisory team, you will directly contribute to the success of an exciting, fast-growing business that is solving some of the most challenging issues faced by our clients. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the delivery of various finance function improvement projects (e.g. diagnostic assessment, operating model design, process improvement, management information, organisational design, etc.);
  • Interviewing stakeholders, gathering data, and facilitating workshops;
  • Developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including CFOs, financial controllers, and finance/accounting managers;
  • Developing practical solutions that remediate or address critical issues faced by the CFO and/or the finance function;
  • Writing reports and developing deliverable materials and content; and
  • Assisting Partners and Directors with business development activities, including the development of proposals and discussion materials

About your experience

Ideally you will have:

  • At least five years of experience in finance, accounting, or professional services, including at least one year of experience in a consulting environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a project-based environment;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including well-developed presentation and facilitation skills;
  • Track record in applying strategic problem solving, through qualitative and quantitative analysis;
  • Experience in managing complex interactions with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Advanced data gathering and research capabilities;
  • Ability to synthesize large sets of data to develop meaningful insights and recommendations;
  • Desire to work in small teams, potentially across multiple projects, with an active “hands on” approach;
  • Strong skills with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Experience with business writing and developing reports is strongly preferred;
  • Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems (either as a user or a consultant) is preferred; and
  • Bachelor’s degree and CA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred
