Analyst to Manager - Financial Instruments

About the role
Our specialist Financial Instruments Centre of Excellence (CoE) team is part of a wider Assurance & Advisory (A&A) team of more than 9000 outstanding professionals that serve many of Australia's largest publicly-owned companies, private businesses and the three tiers of government. Our Financial Instruments CoE team works within our Assurance practice to deliver services across audit, accounting and advisory functions.

Our specialist Financial Instruments CoE has opportunities for talented individuals to participate in both the delivery of these specialist services and in their development, ranging from automation and workflow initiatives, to potentially collaborating and working with CoE and Audit Transformation leaders both nationally and internationally as part our Audit Transformation strategy.

Deloitte’s specialist Financial Instruments CoE consists of a team of Melbourne based specialists that support our clients and engagement teams nationally. Our core Financial Instruments CoE delivery function focuses upon:

  • Financial Instruments Fair Value
  • Accounting for Financial instruments including
    • Derivatives Classification and Measurement
    • Hedge Accounting, and
    • Disclosures

As the team expands, we are keen to speak with talented and ambitious candidates ranging from Analyst to Manager levels.

About you
Working directly with the Financial Instruments CoE leaders, you will either or both depending upon your level, utilise and develop your existing experience, to assist the Financial Instruments CoE in delivering its core services. We are looking for candidates from Analyst to Manager level and understand based on your experience to date and that for many, the transition to Financial Instrument specialist may be ahead of you. The Financial Instruments CoE is an ideal place to develop this highly sought after specialisation but to the extent you have part of the following attributes then this is an advantage.

The following attributes would be considered favourably but are by no means mandatory in consideration we are recruiting commencing from Analyst level (but up to Manager level) :

  • Audit Experience
  • Ideally be CA or CFA or studying towards (qualified or similar)
  • Knowledge of AASB 9, AASB 7 and AASB 13
  • Experience in the performance of fair value measurement
