Analyst - Expatriate / Employment Tax


About the Opportunity

Deloitte’s Global Employer Services (GES) practice offers well-rounded plans and program development strategies that can help transform global employment and international assignment programs in a tax and cost-efficient manner. Providing specialist expatriate tax and employment tax advisory services you’ll be working with our VIP clients.

With an emphasis on the delivery of services backed by data analytics, digital insights and other technologies you’ll add value to projects and enhance the customer experience.

The team offers career development and training which focusses on the development of both technical and soft skills, including delegation, problem solving, client advisory and leadership. There are opportunities for successful candidates to interact directly with clients and other professionals within the Deloitte global network, be involved in major local and global projects (including M&As) as well as undertake short and long term domestic and international secondments.

About the Work

As an Analyst in GES you can expect to:

  • Support international assignment consulting and compliance services across a range of clients and matters relating to expatriate tax consulting with clients ensuring they are in compliance with complying home country tax obligations, including reviewing individual income tax returns
  • Support and be part of high quality tax briefings for VIP clients covering areas such as, residency, investment structures, payroll, tax technical advice around FBT, PAYG
  • Draft advice to clients on various employment tax matters such as Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Payroll Taxes, PAYG Withholding, Superannuation Guarantee and Salary Packaging and considering the tax implications of proposed remuneration structures
  • Build a positive client experience through providing sound advice and utilising our expertise across our Global Employer Services team
  • Learn and have access to senior leadership who are invested in your career

About You

With an interest in growing your tax career you will be looking to move into the expatriate tax or employment taxes field.

We are looking for talented individuals to join our team who are confident and passionate about client service. Applicants must have effective communication skills (both verbal and written) as well as strong research, analytical and problem solving abilities.

Applicants must also enjoy working in a team environment and be keen to contribute in a proactive and innovative way to come up with solutions to complex client issues.
