Account Director - Tax Insights & Policy Learning team


About the role

This position will be responsible for the content and delivery of the Tax Internal Graduate Training program to graduates in Tax and Deloitte Private nationally and internationally. The role will involve working closely with our Business Tax team leaders to deliver a high standard of training in Tax compliance, accounting, tax effect accounting, consolidation and international tax topics.

This is a dynamic and unique role working with the Deloitte Tax Insights & Policy (TIP) team to develop, update and facilitate our highly recognised and externally accredited Tax internal technical training program. This individual would enjoy working within a team, be articulate and confident in public speaking, relish sharing their technical knowledge and have a genuine desire to deliver quality training to our graduates. The right candidate would be willing to travel nationally and Internationally.

For the right candidate the role is flexible and could either be part time working on development and delivery of training material, or full time with the added diversity of also working directly with the TIP partner on various TIP projects. The location is also flexible – Sydney, Melbourne or Perth.

Key Duties

  • Assist in the development, review and updating of our Tax technical training materials, focussing on accounting, TEA, compliance, consolidation and international tax topics
  • Facilitation/Delivery of training to our Tax and Deloitte Private graduates nationally and to our EDC graduates internationally
  • Allocating pre-work and review of assessments in connection with the Tax Internal Graduate Program
  • Providing feedback to Counselling Partners and Managers on graduate performance
  • Development of new graduate/analyst training modules as needed
  • Close collaboration within a nationally-based team

About you

  • Accounting, Finance or Commence degree
  • Tax technical ability and up-to-date understanding of Australian corporate tax and international tax issues
  • Experience in preparation and review of company tax returns, consolidation calculations, and corporate tax and international tax advisory work
  • Confidence in public speaking
  • Business writing skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel interstate and twice per year to our office in India to deliver training
  • Strong organisational skills, and ability to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and work autonomously on individual tasks
  • Effective team player
  • Experience with Tax Advance or similar GI / Corporate Tax software - desirable
  • Experience in delivery/facilitation of tax technical training - desirable
