About the Role

We currently have a 6 months fixed-term opportunity for an Analyst to join the Wholesale Markets Risk team.

The Wholesale Markets Risk team is the middle office function primarily responsible for implementing risk management and control processes to act as an effective second line of defence to manage risk from Wholesale Markets’ (Front Office) and Treasury’s activities.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Validate trade activity in AGL’s trading systems in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare trade confirmations and contracts
  • Coordinate with front office and other support teams to address trade related enquiries and issues
  • Run daily risk checks and accordingly generate risk reports.
  • Assist in the management of the operation of contract administration systems and provide administration services settlement systems and ecomarket registries; contribute to their re-design
  • Assist with risk reviews of Front, Middle and Back office activities where they impact contracting activity and system administration
  • Counterparty Credit Checking and Credit Support Calculations
  • Perform counterparty compliance checks, such as Anti-money Laundering-Counterterrorism Financing.
  • Prepare and submit OTC Trade Reports
  • Oversee ACCC Undertakings compliance plan, reporting and processes
  • Environmental Product Scheme administration and reporting
  • ad-hoc support finance support as required to ensure the delivery of submissions in line with timetables and deadline

About You

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Strong, proactive consultation and relationship building skills with stakeholders both internal and external to Wholesale Markets Risk and AGL
  • Ability to deliver to tight daily deadlines on an ongoing basis while managing a diverse range of competing priorities
  • Proactively drive compliance requirements within and with stakeholders outside the Wholesale Markets Risk team to ensure compliance with relevant Policies
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues on a timely basis
  • Strong ability to share information, consult and work with other team members to achieve team goals
  • Proactive management of own workload to ensure that deadlines are met or potential issues are raised early
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy while understanding the broader context
  • Proven ability in the operation of various IT systems for administration and analysis
  • Experience in utility or financial markets
  • Experience in middle or back office functions
