Business and Corporate Finance (BCF) delivers dynamic banking solutions to improve our clients' businesses and support economic development.

Corporate & Commercial Lending Products (C&CL) is responsible for providing market leading products and processes to customers and relationship teams across both the institutional bank and the business bank. 

C&CL products range from high volume / low complexity offerings through to low volume / high complexity offerings. Working closely within the business, you will seek to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the commercial and institutional lending business, you will bring a solution oriented mindset to recommend IT and process solutions that enable the business to achieve its goals.

This role coordinates and documents the definition of business and functional requirements. You will provide specialist support for projects and BAU operations.

In this role you will translate requirements into language that supports and enables the design and implementation of effective and stable IT solutions.

You will facilitate communication between technology and business stakeholders, and aim for the highest standards of collaboration between both groups in order to minimise the scope for misunderstanding



As our Business Analyst you will perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA’s Values and People Capabilities and in an Agile environment. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Business analysis planning and monitoring to find out which activities are necessary in order to identify and define relevant requirements, select appropriate techniques and processes to lead them and give visibility to progress
  • Collect, organise and synthesize large amounts of information from various sources
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs, concerns and the environment that they operate in
  • Effectively communicate requirements to technology, handling conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure that the business and technology remain in agreement on solution scope and actual needs.
  • Assess and document the current state of business to identify and recommend improvements and verification and validation of resulting requirements
  • Collate, translate and document business requirements into functional designs, using language that are clearly understood and actionable by technology teams through user stories
  • Develop ultimate documentation including Business Requirements documents and models; concept papers; design specifications and delivery of learning's to end user.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.



We are looking for an astute Business Analyst with experience in Agile projects. Experience in Financial Services Industry and knowledge of Business lending products and processes are key to your success. You will have;

  • Superb communication and negotiation skills
  • Process improvement experience/Green-belt training
  • Experience working on technology enabled projects
  • IT or business tertiary qualifications / recognised industry certifications will be highly regarded
