Cloud Operations Engineer


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to join Stockland’s Platform Services team, based in the Sydney Head Office, to help build to deliver cloud and infrastructure services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily service operations and on-going improvements to the Cloud platform, services, infrastructure and associated systems. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service to all stakeholders;
  • Manage and mature resilient, high-quality IaaS and Cloud-native services to Stockland staff, customers and partners;
  • Provide best-practice advice and recommendations for supported IT business infrastructure, systems and services;
  • Enhance organisational effectiveness through continuous improvement and innovation;
  • Contribute to team success by working collaboratively with own team members; assisting team members when needed; sharing ideas, knowledge and experience; and seeking to learn from team members
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Undertake or participate in ad hoc projects as required

About you;

  • Certification(s) in Amazon Web Services (desirable)
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar (desirable)
  • Three or more years’ experience working in technical cloud engineering positions.
  • Capable of managing and supporting a mix of on-premise, AWS and Azure platform workloads and associated systems to agreed Service Levels.
  • Technically proficient in Windows server operating environments, Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Proficient with PowerShell and windows automation.
  • Experience with design and implementation of identity and access management services is highly desirable. 
  • Knowledgeable in monitoring, logging and auditing practices 
  • Able to create documentation such as support artefacts, conceptual and low-level designs
  • Experienced with patch management processes and tools, such as SCCM, WSUS and SSM
  • Experience with MS SQL
  • Understanding of cloud-native services, concepts and emerging trends, such as serverless, infrastructure into code, RDS and Lambda
  • Able to work in both traditional ITIL and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledgeable in high availability, maintaining and maturing resilient services
  • Able to work with key partners in delivering cloud-based services
  • Deliver and run cloud platforms to agreed time and cost parameters
  • Maintain currency with emerging industry trends
