The Clients & Market Insights Leader, reporting to the Head of Markets & Sales Enablement, is responsible for leading KPMG Australia’s firm wide insights team:

  • Client Insights
  • Market & Competitor Intelligence &
  • Research

The Clients & Market Insights Leader will utilize client and market data to uncover deep behavioural insights that drive organizational change, inform KPMG’s market position and drive improved client outcomes. The successful applicant will have experience leading a team of insights professionals and setting a insights and data strategy. They will also possess strong analytical skills to interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using data visualization tools to make recommendations with sound rationale and drive strategic business decisions.

As a digital and data driven expert you will have the skills to not only deeply understand data, but also to socialize those insights efficiently and accessibly – to senior stakeholders. Experience with both qualitative and quantitative analysis is important, as well as being able to demonstrate naturally strong communication and storytelling to bring data to life.

Your opportunity:

As KPMG continues to grow, you have the opportunity to develop your career working on a broad range of matters. In particular, you will lead a team to:

  • Design of the existing and new Client Insights Programs to drive improved client outcomes to improve loyalty, drive advocacy and increase touch points. Face to face interviews, win/loss program and online surveys.
  • Collate, synthesize, analyse competitor information and market insights to support leadership to make strategic data driven decisions. Provide the business with detailed market analysis and insight to assist commercial decision making.
  • Regularly report on insights, key metrics and undertake analysis for KPMG’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Board.
  • Support business decision making by moulding data into different models and visualizations that can deliver well considered, multi-level insights and analysis to different stakeholders.
  • Leverage all available primary and secondary resources - internal data, access to stakeholders, syndicated data and custom research.
  • Manage, train, and inspire your team to drive business outcomes across the end-to-end client journey.
  • Enable ‘self-serve’ analytics; advocate for data driven decision and frameworks via empowerment of data usage across the business.
  • Drive agile and collaborative team-working processes throughout the data organization; monitor progress against activities and actively “connect the dots” across teams where appropriate

  • Exceptional analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to distil copious amounts of data ( qualitative, quantitative, secondary, etc.) into an insightful story with actionable recommendations
  • Familiarity in running complex research projects that require data inputs from multiple sources
  • Proven ability to convert customer insights and market research into action programs
  • Exhibiting deep expertise in client, competitive and strategic analysis and non-traditional intelligence approaches.
  • Experience leveraging survey tools (i.e. Qualtrics) and analytics tools, e.g. PowerBi
  • Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making, through providing insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbally) to diverse audiences, specifically delivering compelling presentations and telling the story with action-oriented implications
  • Strong team leadership skills; Executive presence, strong communication and excellent influencing skills required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a team of insights and data professionals. Specifically with customer experience, market research or competitive intelligence role. Ideally in a professional services environment or in a complex a B2B environment.
