Senior Business Development Manager


The Senior Manager, Business Development will be responsible for the end to end delivery of new partnerships to grow the Citi consumer business, in terms of customers and revenue, and to work with partners to deliver new features and enhanced experiences for existing customers. This includes supporting the end to end management of the business development pipeline for Australia including partner sourcing/pitching, opportunity assessment, commercial and contract negotiation, internal approvals, and relationship management through to launch. The role will also support the Head of Business Development in large scale potential partnerships such as M&A activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: support the Head of Business Development in strategy development and identification of resulting pipeline targets and/or prioritisation of opportunities, lead pitch submission development and presentations, and develop relationships with broader Citi franchise and region to foster opportunities to grow the business.
  • Innovation & product development: conduct regular market scan and provide insight to the business on threats and key market opportunities, develop potential solutions to future proof the business, and become an SME on Citi’s partnership integration capabilities including API infrastructure.
  • Team management: Manage the business development manager and broader team and lead virtual teams to negotiate and to support delivery of new partnerships e.g. risk and analytics, due diligence teams, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline
  • 8 years+ financial services or loyalty experience preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • P & L management experience
  • Partnership management experience
  • Knowledge of payment industry, in particular digital checkout financing and instalments
  • Product, project and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing new products within a large organisation
