Cit Commercial Bank, Client Onboarding Specialist (Fixed-Term Contract)


Citi's Commercial Bank is hiring a KYC and Client Onboarding specialist, responsible for the client onboarding, KYC and account documentation process and will be the first point of contact after the sales process to ensure a favourable client onboarding experience.  This role is an opportunity to develop into a support senior bankers and gain exposure to an open and multicultural working environment. In addition to onboarding processes, the role will also get the opportunity to support bankers on client management including service, deal monitoring and client due diligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to manage onboarding, KYC initiation/renewal and the account opening processes.
  • Understand the dynamics of local financial markets, banking industry and regulations and their impact on our clients
  • Manage the various internal systems including; CRM, onboarding portal, TTS Siebel etc.
  • Macro-market knowledge: know the players, size of the market, market share and other financial indicators
  • Learn about the competition and be able to provide critical input to develop new business initiatives
  • Within the CCB Global Banking client base, identify, qualify and wallet size prospective clients for new business initiatives.
  • Assist support bankers on day to day management of the CCB client portfolio for all inquiries and act as a secondary escalation point for all TTS service inquires.
  • Ensure AML/Compliance reviews are completed within policy timeframes for all names in defined in the client portfolio.
  • Build Citi credit policy knowledge and understand how it is applied to client transactions
  • Assist support bankers as required including portfolio reporting, business presentations, Regional project initiatives and other adhoc business requirements.  

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the KYC process is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of the account documentation and opening process is highly regarded
  • Client facing experience (either face-to-face or via telephone) is highly regarded
  • Understanding of Banking products: Loans, FX, Derivatives, Cash Management, Trade is highly regarded
  • Ability to work within a matrix organisation and partner effectively with product partners and Banking colleagues
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Quick learner and has the ability to understand application of new products or services quickly and effectively
  • Client first attitude
  • Finance or business undergraduate degree advantageous (or equivalent experience)
