Infrastructure Engineer

Your Team

You'll be part of the Hosting platform which develops and maintains compute, data and storage services and tools - both on-premise and cloud-hosted - for easy consumption and management by tribes and other platforms.

Your opportunity

The Infrastructure Engineer is a key member in the delivery of enterprise services for Bankwest. You will be responsible for designing, automating, maintaining and supporting infrastructure and platform services suitable for enterprise hybrid cloud deployments.

Your responsibilities

You will be reporting to the Engineering Lead and your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluation of emerging technology and trends to determine internal technical roadmaps
  • Understanding customer needs and business requirements and working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver enterprise grade technology designs and solutions
  • Automating manual repetitive tasks and streamlining processes
  • Ongoing support of the server and virtualisation environments (e.g. provisioning, patching, tuning, testing)
  • Contributing to our supporting documentation and operating procedures
  • Actively participate in operational support activities including on-call support and incident / problem / change management

Your skills and experience

Essential

  • Thought leader in the x86 server platform space with the proven ability to build technical designs
  • Advanced server performance management and troubleshooting (memory dump analysis, identifying performance bottlenecks such as memory leaks, disk throughput)
  • Proficient in PowerShell and proven experience in the automation of manual / repetitive tasks
  • Extensive experience with Windows server management (AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SCCM)
  • Proficient with server virtualisation (e.g. VMware)
  • Experience with public cloud, ideally Office365 / Azure

Desirable

  • Experience with database technologies (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Linux / Unix operating systems
  • Experience with either Puppet / Chef / Ansible / SaltStack
  • Use of source control
  • Development experience

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred but not essential
