We have a permanent opportunity for an Executive Manager (EM) Strategy to drive Bankwest's strategic agenda.

The role

As the successful candidate, you will drive the development and periodic review of Bankwest's overarching strategy. Your ability to provide insight into national and global developments that may provide opportunities or threats to Bankwest while ensuring integration with the CBA Group Strategy, will see you succeed in this role.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Drive the bank's strategic agenda in the context of Group strategy
  • Analyse competitive and industry positioning and formulate strategies to best position Bankwest. Represent Bankwest's strategic needs within CBA Group,
  • Overview key initiatives that input to industry reviews,
  • Drive alignment of divisional strategies to ensure focus and prioritisation based on the overarching Bankwest's corporate strategy
  • Build the Strategy team brand through thought leadership and knowledge sharing across Bankwest
  • Coach team members and peers to lift commercial acumen and strategic thinking

The successful applicant

Your background will clearly demonstrate the following key skills and attributes;

  • Ability to exercise good judgement, use own initiative, think laterally and strategically to appropriately challenge preconceptions or ingrained thinking
  • Extensive skills and experience with analysis of financial information
  • Extensive experience in complex and senior stakeholder management
  • Proactive style and approach to leadership
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Tertiary qualifications (MBA Advantageous)
  • Direct involvement in or responsibility for digital business initiatives in financial services
  • Exposure to Agile development methodologies
