Executive Manager, Operational Risk

The Risk Management team is a Line 2 team and is responsible for developing the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite. 

What Success looks like

Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk at Bankwest, you will be successful in this role by:

  • Leading, coaching and motivating a dedicated team of operational risk professionals
  • Designing and executing a strategy for delivering the team's responsibilities in relation to the operational risk framework
  • Assurance activity over the closure of significant matters, including audit matters
  • Providing support at various risk governance forums through review, challenge and advice
  • Forging and maintaining strong relationships with business, line 1 and audit partners
  • Advising on operational risk considerations which relate to major projects (regulatory or otherwise)

 

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

 

  • Experience with governance forums
  • Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams
  • Broad knowledge of operational risk framework elements
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex concepts accurately and concisely
  • Experience working with regulators
  • Broad knowledge of banking, wealth and insurance products.
