The wider BOQ Business looks after the Banks Commercial Lending, Equipment Finance, Specialist Lending, Trade and Financial Markets. The client relationships are held across many segments which include Branches, Brokers, Business Banking, Corporate, Health & Retirement, Property and Agribusiness and are serviced by teams throughout Australia. About the role

Reporting to the Head of Client & Risk Management Solutions this roles purpose is to lead and drive the Financial Markets (FM) and Trade Finance (TF) client solutions NSW business. The role will be responsible for the NSW State business performance across Deposit, FX, Interest Rate and Trade Finance services.

You will proactively engage with key stakeholders in delivering the specialized client services capability and reputation of the FM & TF business with the NSW Corporate, Business Banking, Agribusiness, Retail, BOQ Finance and BOQ Specialist client base. Likewise, you will have strong leadership skills to identify, pursue and build rapport with existing and prospective clients by effectively identifying and communicating appropriate FM & TF solutions. In addition, the role will be player/coach in nature, managing your own portfolio whilst leading the business in NSW. The role will also plan and lead the NSW marketing activities, mentor less experienced colleagues and assist with service improvements/enhancements with the Product and Business Management team.

Your mandate is to significantly grow the BOQ FM & TF full service capability, market share and achieve the KPIs across NSW.

About you

The successful person will have a proven track record at State Manager level in Financial Markets and/or Trade Finance. Along with this prior experience you will be able to meet the following key criteria:

  • Degree in commerce/business desirable
  • Understanding of Commercial Lending, Uniform Consumer Credit Code and Code of Banking Practice
  • Knowledge of Privacy legislation relevant to Banking
  • Exceptional standards of communication both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively and lead a team in a team leadership environment
  • All appropriate AFMA accreditations completed and current within 6 months of commencement
  • Solid understanding of local NSW Market in TF and FM
  • Devised Strategic Market Share growth plans in TF and FM
  • Well networked in TF and FM across NSW and able to build referral networks
  • Demonstrate previous full state business growth and team accountability
  • Ability to develop and nurture colleague and peer relationships to achieve common objectives
