About the Role

The purpose of this position is to support the Equipment Finance Regional Sales Manager to achieve agreed settlement, portfolio growth and profitability objectives for the Equipment Finance (“EF”) product portfolio. This will be achieved through establishing and building relationships with our 3rd party broker network and delivery of process & product development, training & implementation of same and provision of an exceptional customer service that meet our customer needs.

The position will also be the point of contact for sales, product and pricing matters from a selected group of 3rd party brokers. The incumbent will work with the EF RM to plan, coordinate and deliver marketing activities, training initiatives, project and business improvement initiatives, reporting and day to day budget and expense management.

Specifically you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain a pipeline of new business volume targets across the territory
  • Manage the development & maintenance of relationships with new customers
  • Promote BOQ Finance as a high quality provider of equipment finance and other financial products
  • Develop Sales Plans for the allocated territory
  • Integrate and streamline application, settlement, account management processes
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the efficiency of the business through recommending and implementing system and process enhancements
  • Build and maintain relationships with 3rd Party Brokers

About you

As a proven Business Development Manager you will have a natural tenacity to follow up leads and generate new business opportunities. You will have a strong background in asset finance/equipment finance and strong 3rd Party Broker networks.

Key criteria will include:

  • Finance or Commerce Degree would be preferred but not essential
  • Sound understanding of Credit Risk
  • Strong Negotiation and Influencing skills
  • Understanding of regulatory obligations
  • Ability to achieve and exceed New Business Volume Targets
  • Proven track record of Business Development Experience in Equipment Finance
  • Effective Time Management
