Structural Engineer - Newcastle

We are currently looking for a junior to mid-level Structural Engineer to join our Newcastle office. In addition to offering your technical expertise, you will be involved in engaging with clients to further strengthen relationships.

Our team delivers landmark projects in the region including University of Newcastle NeW Space, Newcastle Interchange, several new schools, and the Newcastle Light Rail. Your commitment to the currently available position will place you in a service line that is at the vanguard of innovative projects across the world delivered by eminent engineers through leading digital techniques

The requirements of this position will include

  • Carrying out site investigations at rail stations throughout NSW
  • Providing detailed design solutions and documentation
  • Project management of multiple work packages
  • Working closely with our clients to ensure timely delivery
  • Assist with the preparation of fee proposals and other work winning activities
  • Current drivers licence and ability to drive in rural and urban environments

The successful candidate will have experience in the following

  • Australian recognised Bachelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years post graduate experience
  • Excellent understanding of relevant Australian Standards
  • Strong ability to use structural software packages such as Microstran, Spacegass, Strand7, Rapt etc, as well as spreadsheets to track and coordinate large numbers of deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the preparation of engineering designs, specifications and technical report writing
  • Proven ability to liaise professionally with Clients
  • Strong ability to deliver appropriate engineering solutions within a specified time frame
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team

You will be a suitably qualified Structural Engineer, with full working rights in Australia and be able to communicate ideas successfully and collaborate with clients and colleagues to achieve goals.
