Structural Engineer

Aurecon brings ideas to life to design a better future. Imagining what is possible, we turn problems into solutions, and dreams into reality for our clients across various regions and markets. We provide advisory, design, delivery and asset management services on projects big and small, in locations worldwide.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join one of the most talented and respected engineering teams in Australia. Our team is Aurecon’s global centre of excellence in maritime and industrial structures, which means we provide structural engineering services across many sectors including public, private, resources and defence. We are part of a high-performing and successful multi-disciplinary team that has worked together to win Australian Engineering Excellence Awards for four of our projects in the last six years, the most successful of which was Brisbane’s flood resilient ferry terminals.

If you’re a highly skilled and motivated structural engineer and want to join a team that works on more award-winning engineering projects in more diverse markets than almost any other, we want to hear from you. We want creative thinkers, not just code-followers. We want people who can apply their craft and bring a unique perspective, to help us develop new and interesting solutions. We value questions and want established wisdom to be tested with new approaches. And, very importantly, we want people who will have fun doing this.

It’s difficult to describe our ideal candidate in bullet points, but the list below provides some attributes that we think are valuable for the modern engineer. We would like to hear about any interest or skills of yours that align with:

  • A desire to work within multi-discipline teams (with engineers and others)
  • A knack for putting structural engineering outcomes into simple language that can be understood by clients, stakeholders and other engineering disciplines
  • Ability to draw on strong structural engineering fundamentals to provide bespoke design solutions
  • Automation/programming skills that can allow us to think more and churn less
  • Experience working to help clients maintain and operate large and aging assets

Our preferred candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • CPEng and RPEQ (or be working towards these)
  • 2 to 7 years of experience in structural engineering
  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel to site locations around Queensland and Australia

We are committed to fostering a culture that empowers our people, promotes teamwork and embraces sustainability and diversity. Aurecon is an equal opportunity employer and provides flexible working arrangements through an innovative ‘Yesflex’ program which is embraced by our staff.  If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding position in a forward thinking organisation, and you feel you have the relevant skills required, please apply now.
