Senior Project Manager

Our team specialises in delivering successful projects on behalf of our clients. With a strong portfolio of projects and a strong project pipeline, we have an opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to drive and lead on the delivery of Defence Projects in Cairns.

The Project Manager will be able to demonstrate the ability to participate and support in the planning implementation and close-out of projects to meet client outcomes. You will also be confident in contributing to achieving the required results in delivering reasonably complex projects.

Aligned with Aurecon’s key attributes, the key role requirements will include:

  • Project scheduling and project coordination
  • Stakeholder management
  • Preparing project briefs
  • Reporting against the project plan and schedule
  • Contract administration
  • Contractor and construction management
  • Report writing
  • Project financial management

As an ideal candidate for this position you should possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Construction/Project Management/Engineering
  • Experience in delivering large multidiscipline Defence projects
  • Relevant experience in managing challenging projects, ideally within a similar consulting environment
  • Demonstrated team coordination and leadership skills
  • Strong commercial acumen – operational and contractual
  • Effectiveness in assessing risks and issues and impacts to the project plan and schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills and the ability to present during stakeholder meetings
