Senior Hydraulic Designer

Aurecon has an impressive national Defence PDS work pipeline and a dedicated design hub focused on executing this work for the East Coast of Australia.  Aurecon is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Designer to provide complimentary design skills to this team within our Built Environment Unit in Brisbane.  You will be involved in the detailed design of hydraulic services design such as energy efficiency, hot/cold water systems, sanitary drainage, roof drainage, rain water collection systems, storm water interfaces and fixture/fitting scheduling.  You will liaise with your internal Aurecon stakeholders as well as being client facing and lead / manage design projects on your own.  Multi-discipline project design experience considered an advantage.  AutoCAD or Revit skills will be recognised, but are not essential.

Key tasks include:

  • Preparation of drawings and calculations, reports, technical specifications and fee proposals
  • Participation in project meetings and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducting site inspections.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Ideally have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a consulting or defence environment
  • Be currently enrolled in or have completed the Associate Diploma of Hydraulic Services or higher degree qualification (but not essential)
  • Have excellent stakeholder engagement and can build strong relationships
  • Have a sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards and the National Construction Code/Building Code of Australia.
  • Manage client expectations and deliver projects to budget and programme
  • Have a strong desire to accept a challenge and deliver results
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

It is expected that applicants will be able to demonstrate excellent technical and analytical skills together with high degree of competency in written and oral communication.
