Aurecon’s Energy and Resources team based in Perth considers itself a key player in the future of the resources industry in Western Australia. The team is primarily responsible for the provision of design and design management services required to support the planning, scoping, estimating and delivery of a wide range of project types from inception to implementation and asset management.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical / Bulk Materials Handling Engineer to join our Energy and Resources Team in the Perth office.

The Role:

Your primary responsibility will be to develop projects and clients at the inception stage – to scope and strategically plan mechanical project prospects, undertake prospect due diligence, contribute to concept and feasibility studies, brief and work with design and project management staff.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineer Degree and/or Professional Membership
  • Significant experience in project development, bid development, client development
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, customer focus and business analysis
  • Extensive Mechanical Design and Bulk Materials Handling experience - metals and minerals eg. iron ore (haematite and magnetite)/coal/nickel experience - both and/or in a design office and on site
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards and practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing
  • Ability to guide and manage engineers and designers
  • Demonstrated exposure to project development and/or delivery in the Western Australian market
