PMO Manager


APRA is seeking a senior PMO Manager to join the Enterprise PMO reporting to the Head of Project Delivery. The PMO Manager will provide direction and guidance to projects on all aspects of project management in accordance with APRA’s project methodology.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and oversee the ongoing management of APRA’s project framework and methodologies.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Business Owners, Business Leaders and Project Managers in planning and controlling project activities to promote consistent application of project management best-practice across the organisation.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to PMO staff.
  • Lead and drive development and enhancement of high quality project document templates and governance artefacts.
  • Build constructive working relationships with Project Managers and key stakeholders to support successful delivery of projects.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with established project methodology to ensure the organisation adheres to standards and best practices.
  • Actively contribute to the project stage-gate review process, project health checks and audits, providing recommendations for ongoing improvements.
  • Provide project management training, support and guidance where required.
  • Project Management of small projects where required.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of Project Management and PMO personnel.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience experience working in a PMO (preferably ePMO), including experience in a leadership role. You will have a project delivery background having more recent experience as a Project Manager working within complex environments preferably in financial services.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups along and experience working in both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall environments will be essential. Experience in championing and executing process improvement within an ePMO and a strong understanding of change management, strategy and portfolio management is required.

Project Management certification (PMBOK/Prince2) and tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience are highly regarded.
