Senior Manager, Enterprise Technology Risk


  • Deliver strategic opinion and advice on operational risk caused by the use of tehcnology, balancing commercial and customer outcomes against ANZ’s regulatory and financial obligations
  • Develop and drive the consistent implementation and embedding of the operational risk and compliance frameworks
  • Foster collaboration across teams, functions, regions and divisions using a range of influencing and negotiation strategies to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders

As the Senior Manager for Enterprise Technology Risk, you will anticipate and navigate operational risk caused by the use of technology ensuring adherence to the frameworks (policy) in place. You will support and input into the approach to the implementation and education of operational risk caused by the use of technology for business leaders so that it is simple, embedded consistently, and drives quality business decisions. You will own the 2nd line opinion of how well operational risk caused by the use of technology is being managed in driving business decisions. You will also provide thought leadership and influence and continuous improvement of mechanisms in place to govern and manage operational risk caused by the use of technology including risk appetite statements and associated indicators, relevant Risk Committee and other reporting. You will also identify themes, and ensure relevant risk committee reporting and escalation where required.

As a member of the Operational Risk and Compliance Team, be forward thinking, work collaboratively and inspire to ensure a strong and mature operational risk and compliance culture.

 

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Significant professional work experience with substantial relevant experience in technology risk management experience or internal and external audit, coupled with significant banking & finance industry knowledge.
  • Significant technical expertise in risk required, coupled with specialist skills and experience in designated functional domain.  Experience should include risk and control analysis of complex business areas and processes, using this to design and deliver effective risk management and assurance.  Influencing to ensure that real improvements have been made in response to work and messages delivered.
  • Excellent relationship management skills – with evidence of working effectively with, and influencing, senior executives over a sustained period of time.  Builds strong networks, demonstrates emotional intelligence, empathy, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in managing and inspiring global teams to perform at a high level, including communicating a compelling vision, ensuring that others buy into this, using a range of leadership styles appropriate to the situation. Takes a long term view of developing individuals and has demonstrated success in this. Fosters accountability and provides regular clear constructive feedback. Manages own, and team’s competing priorities and objectives. Plans activities effectively and gives people autonomy to provide them with opportunities to develop.
  • Excellent negotiating, influencing and conflict management skills. Has a track record in acknowledging and leading resolution of conflict.  Facilitates cross team learning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening and interpreting & innovative problem solving skills. Acts as a trusted advisor to both external contacts (across Technology and Risk) and within the Enterprise Technology Risk team.
