  • Preference for experience in Risk or Audit with expertise in operational risk and compliance management.  Also an expectation of experience leading teams and managing complex programs.

About the Role

Role Type: Full-Time

Your experience in operational risk and compliance management across the financial services industry will be leveraged and developed further.  You will bring an understanding and interest in evolving regulatory expectations with respect to risk management (e.g. BEAR, CPS220) and will have the opportunity to contribute to the Bank’s response and approach to these expectations through audit review activity.

This will include reviewing the Bank’s approach to risk management as well as specific business areas.  You will be required to assess the adequacy and appropriateness of controls in place to manage and mitigate risk, and work with management to develop sustainable solutions that enhance the control environment, better manage risk exposures and support the Bank’s strategic objectives.

You will also have an important role in building capability across the Internal Audit function.  You will need to work closely with colleagues across the global team in how operational risk and compliance management is assessed, drawing on your excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in managing large projects within the financial services industry.  This will include working with multiple stakeholders, across geographies and with complex, sometimes ambiguous subject matter.
  • Track record in developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in supporting and overcoming resistance to change.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening and interpreting capabilities.
  • Significant demonstrated experience in managing teams.  Proven experience in developing people in this context, setting clear performance expectations and providing feedback against these.
  • Awareness of approaches and techniques for analysing and interpreting structured and unstructured data, with a focus on driving efficiency in audit execution.
  • Excellent negotiating, influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Tertiary qualified, ideally with Professional (CPA/CA) and / or Post Graduate qualifications with technically relevant skills (i.e. accounting, audit, operational risk, compliance).
