Principal Claims Consultant – Risk, Governance and Interventions


  • Be an SME of claims governance and controls including involvement in internal and external audits and reviews
  • Relationship management of internal and external consultants and panels
  • Delivery of 2018 business plan objectives and deliverables



About The Role

Role Location: Sydney, NSW

Role Type: Permanent Fulltime

As the Principal Claims Consultant, your role will be to provide strategic and investigative technical support on complex claims matters. Your day to day responsibilities will include: quality and intervention reviews on claim files to ensure actions are in line with our claims philosophy; adequately addressing issues and actively drive claim durations; providing training, feedback and coaching (both one on one and in group sessions); management of the career and competency framework, developing and maintaining claims assessment guidelines, philosophy and approach and ongoing involvement in continuous improvement projects. 


You are required to have a strong understanding of the regulatory framework that governs the life insurance industry and our internal control framework.

 
About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Significant Life Claims experience assessing Retail or Group Claims
  • Exposure to litigation matters and mediation processes, including FOS and SCT
  • Strong financial acumen and previous specialist experience in a dispute resolution environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write complex case notes
  • Displays attributes of a positive change champion for the implementation of any initiatives
