Overview

The role will involve the application of your data, data governance, risk management and leadership expertise to lead a practice of data governance for how data is organised, managed and leveraged within the Group Risk function of ANZ.

 

You will be required to lead the development and execution of a Data Governance Strategy that will inform the Group Risk function on what needs to happen to optimise their data assets for operational excellence.

 

You will work collaboratively with staff members across Risk, reporting & modeling, enterprise data governance and technology teams, taking direction from the Data Transformation Lead in Risk.

Your knowledge of data management and the data lifecycle is essential, as well as your ability to manage stakeholders and deliver initiatives in a timely manner.

 

You will be measured on improvements to the data management landscape and tangible efficiencies this brings to the business

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the Data Governance practice for Risk in adherence to ANZ Enterprise Data Governance Framework

  • Provide innovative thought leadership into the strategy for managing risk data, introducing modern data concepts and challenging the status quo whilst understanding the regulatory requirements of the bank

  • Participate and where necessary drive appropriate forums within the ANZ Data Governance model, and establish a regular data governance forum within Risk

  • Have responsibility for identifying data quality measures and managing data quality issues and remediation strategies

  • Provide executive updates to Risk and Data on maturity against the EDG framework

  • Deliver against committed milestones demonstrating business improvement gains

  • Make sound and timely decisions and ability to re-prioritise work in response to identified risks

  • Lead a data governance team using Agile methodologies as appropriate

  • Do you have a proven track record in building high performing teams?

  • Do you have experience with the agile SDLC and planning project delivery?
