Engineering Chapter Lead - Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation - Customer

Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation deliver enterprise solutions that makes the right data accessible to our people and customers through tools and channels to drive faster and more informed decision making, removing friction and ultimately delivering a world class customer experience.

As an Engineering Chapter Lead, you will form part of the Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation Customer Tribe within Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation Domain.

The main focus of our Tribe is to create a system of people, process and technology (on premise and cloud), built for agility, to provide data and capabilities for our customer facing business areas (including Aus division and Institutional) to create business and customer value, by being in the moment with our customers.

You will be part of a fantastic team that will engineer, design, build, test and support applications for Cloud Data Platforms. You will work closely with squad members to ensure outcomes meet customer expectations.





What will Your Day look like? 

  • Works in collaborative teams to build innovative solutions to deliver software-driven Cloud Data Solutions (starting with Google Cloud Platform) for ANZ.
  • Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing Data Services capabilities
  • Comfortable in coding Python, and plugging together the best fit cloud products to deliver a business use-case
  • Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality and documentation
  • Contributes to Engineering communities, meetups and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices
  • Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality and documentation
  • Contributes to Engineering communities, meetups and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices
  • Provides ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
  • Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams
  • Understands and implements monitoring application metrics
  • Deep expertise in engineering combined with broad capability and a proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest developments
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire, mentor, coach and develop others
  • Ability to quickly grasp new content and the ability to translate this to your Chapter
  • Proven analytical skills and data-driven decision maker

 
What will be in your toolkit?

  • Ideally you will have a background in software engineering along with experience in working in a complex cloud environment (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure preferably)
  • You will have a solid understanding of full stack development to be able to design, implement the best solutions, and also triage defects or issues
  • You have experience working with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Cloud SQL, R, NoSQL) preferably in an Enterprise environment.
  • Experience in working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions (desired but not mandatory)
  • Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
  • Pays attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
  • Understanding of current state landscape and relevant technologies
  • Demonstrates an understanding of good software engineering practices including CI/CD, Automated testing and Reliability Engineering Reliability engineering
  • Led high performing diverse teams
  • Successfully led people through change
  • Demonstrated the ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Developed personal expertise or deep domain knowledge and contributed
  • to the development of others’ expertise and capability
  • Successfully built a network of strong relationships and influencing key stakeholders
