Risk and Compliance Analyst


Due to our continued investment in Line 1 Risk & Compliance resources, Allianz Australia has a new opportunity for you to join our Customer Services division in a Risk & Compliance Analyst role. Reporting to a Senior Risk & Compliance Manager, you will support our Line 1 risk and compliance function to operationalise and implement the risk management framework within the customer services division. You'll support the development and deployment of effective risk management strategies with a view to promoting a strong and efficient internal control environment across our Customer Services division.

The Risk and Compliance Analyst role is responsible for assisting in leading the implementation and execution of the risk and compliance management framework. As a genuine partner to the business the role plays a pivotal part in advising the business to ensure operational and compliance risks are appropriately identified, assessed and monitored.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and increase awareness of risk management and compliance.
  • Provide analysis of thematic risk and compliance issues arising from control self-assessment results, compliance incidents/breaches, risk incidents, operational losses, etc. Escalate incidents/breaches to relevant stakeholders
  • Support the team in partnering with the Customer Service Business Units and act as support and advisor on risk and compliance matters.
  • Support the development of action plans and their implementation to address current/emerging risk and compliance issues in conjunction with the business.
  • Support the development and delivery of appropriate reports and ongoing reporting on risk and compliance performance as required by your manager

To be considered for this role you should possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in risk management and compliance, preferred not essential
  • At least 2-3 years work experience as an analyst, auditor or in risk/compliance roles.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferable, although not essential.
  • Strong data analytical skills to convert risk and incident data into meaningful management information
  • Ability to engage with the business and build/manage internal customer relationships
  • Planning & organising work to enable quality reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
