Manager, Risk Management

Reporting to the Senior Risk Manager, the Manager is responsible for assisting in leading the implementation and execution of the risk management framework. As a genuine partner to the business, this role plays a pivotal part in advising the business to ensure enterprise risks are appropriately identified, assessed and monitored. The position will require the promotion of a strong risk aware culture through continual engagement with the business, so that risk and compliance are a key consideration in business decisions.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the strengthening of governance, risk management, internal control environement and the risk cutlure.
  • Advising on risk management matters and in the development of processes to manage risk in line with the Board approved risk appetitie and Allianz Risk Management Framework. Guide management in developing action plans to address current/emerging risks.
  • Facilitate risk identification and control assessments as part of key strategic projects and/or business changes.
  • Support the business with the development, execution and monitoring of remedial activity for incidents, provide insights on root cause(s) as well as identify what actions can be implemented to prevent such losses in the future.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators and internal control performance to relevant internal stakeholders.

Important to your success:

  • Minimum 3 years risk, compliance or audit experience within Insurance.
  • Understanding of the risk management principles and processes, risk and controls analysis and the three lies of defence model.
  • Demonstrated accurate and timely delivery of analysis for management decision making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to independently manage and influence internal and external relationships
  • Tertiary qualification is highly desired (Legal, Business or Commerce will be viewed favourably).
