Senior Payroll Officer


About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer to support the execution and delivery of operational activities, serviced by an offshore provider, for four AGL Energy payrolls, with multiple EBAs, and superannuation arrangements. 

This is a 12 month fixed term contract and based in our state of the art offices in Sydney.

Key accountabilities of this role

  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of all entitlements provided through Payroll by reviewing pay results to confirm payroll details, and statutory and taxation obligations are correct
  • Support year end processes by assisting in payment summary reconciliation and annual remuneration reviews
  • Solve operational queries by analyzing pay results for issue resolution and query management
  • Assist with testing for resolution of operational system issues and implementation of payroll changes for new business or statutory requirements (incl. SAP annual HR support packs)
  • Provide effective and reliable customer service to business partners (especially P&C, HSE and Finance)
  • Support delivery of the PT3 program (exciting transformation program at AGL) by participating in ‘business readiness’ activities including data cleansing and testing

About you

  • Good working knowledge of SAP HR/Payroll systems is mandatory
  • Solid understanding of industrial awards and EBAs with respect to payroll
  • Good working knowledge of different superannuation schemes (defined benefits advantageous)
  • Ability to communicate regularly, confidently, professionally, and appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new systems
