Senior Electrical Instrumentation Technician


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance as well as inspection and monitoring of assets. Install and commission plant as required. Willingness to participate in availability duties if requested to do so (roster, on call after hours).
  • Prepare work records and reports including input into SAP.
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment systems are adhered to while meeting the organisations policies and standards for HSE management. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Conducting Hazard Risk Analysis and Job Safety Analysis as required.
  • Ensuring that Safe Access Rules are adhered to.
  • Participation in Toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Receive Access Authorities as requested and progress to Recipient In Charge (RIC) if required.
  • Supervise service providers/contractors to ensure work is conducted to an appropriate standard and in a safe manner.
  • Provide and receive on the job training including the mentoring of employees to ensure high skill levels and safety standards are maintained.
  • Demonstrate the AGL values by acting in the best interests of AGL at all times and working together across the business to create the best overall results and decisions. Encouraging the sharing of skills and experience and contributing to the success of the business at all levels, in a way that is vital and authentic.
  • The Electrical Instrumentation Technician is also required to perform any other reasonable tasks which they are safe and competent to perform, as directed by their leader.

To be successful you will have:

  • an Instrumentation and Controls trade is preferred or a dual trade including an Electrical A Grade Licence.
  • direct experience in maintenance of power generation assets and high voltage electrical assets is preferred.
  • ability to be self-sufficient as well as work within a team.
  • a Victorian drivers licence.
