Risk Lead


About the Role

The risk management function executes best practice risk and compliance frameworks to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality outcomes for AGL and its customers.

Some examples of how this is achieved are:

  • establishing, managing and continuously improving the risk and issues frameworks across Customer Markets, in accordance with AGL’s Risk and Compliance management frameworks.
  • providing subject matter expertise across Customer Markets by driving an effective risk and compliance culture.
  • providing practical and pragmatic advice to the business to improve maturity of risk governance and culture.

As the Risk Lead you will champion a positive risk management culture within Customer Markets, proactively supporting the business to identify and mitigate risk. Ensuring proactive management of operational risk, effective escalation of issues and supporting business units to meet compliance obligations Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

  • leading the implementation of an operational risk and issues management framework and approach for Customer Markets,
  • facilitate risk workshops for business as usual and project activities as required
  • manage and follow up agreed action items and recommendations for risk mitigation and issue management.
  • Establish management reporting on operational and compliance risks and issues in accordance with AGL’s Risk and Compliance frameworks.

About You

You are an experienced risk professional with a hands-on attitude and a solution focused outlook. You are now seeking an opportunity that allows you to partner with the business, to achieve risk and compliance outcomes. Additionally, you bring a demonstrated willingness and ability to take ownership and accountability of decisions and advice

To be successful you'll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or other relevant qualifications in risk and compliance management
  • experience in compliance or risk management role from a dynamic business environment
  • experience with general business management and demonstrated ability to understand and communicate the balance between risk and commercial outcomes
  • experience in influencing senior leaders of the business with an ability to hone in on the critical issues.
