Product Operations Specialist


The Product Operations team is responsible for the day to day management of Residential and Small Business energy products and product related initiatives within SAP CRM, for several brands, including AGL and Powerdirect. The team’s purpose is to ensure the integrity of products and campaigns are maintained.

The role of the Product Specialist is to effectively manage the upkeep of products and campaigns, including supporting the delivery of a new proposition to market, or marketing campaign activities. Following process, the Product Specialist will work in partnership with the Product Managers, Digital teams, Sales, Marketing Campaign Delivery, Business Intermediary team and Energy Management to support go to market activity.

About the Role

The role of the Product Specialist is to effectively manage the upkeep of products and campaigns, including supporting the delivery of a new proposition to market, or marketing campaign activities.

Following process, the Product Specialist will work in partnership with the Product Managers, Digital teams, Sales, Marketing Campaign Delivery, Business Intermediary team and Energy Management to support go to market activity.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • actively promote strong relationships with key stakeholders in the product and campaign process to ensure there is open communications around content of the marketing planner,
  • maintain the system and business processes for creating reference and saleable products and campaigns in SAP CRM.
  • adhere to system and business governance processes to ensure integrity of data in CRM.
  • contribute towards implementing a product and campaign rationalisation plan which will effectively mitigate product and campaign proliferation
  • support the recontracting program deployment and exception management and ensure compliance to our recontracting strategy
  • Manage any product system related risk or issue from inception through to resolution, ensuring they are registerd on the risk and issue register (managed by the Regulatory team).

About You

You are highly organized and bring a passion for product, marketing and the customer experience. A natural communicator, you are articulate and have an ability to translate the technical to the non technical. A motivated self-learner, you also have a proven ability to work to, multiple deadlines

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • a Tertiary qualification (or equivalent hands on experience) in a commercial field with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • experience working with marketing and CRM systems (preferably SAP CRM experience)
  • a proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and communicate opportunities, risks and issues in a self-driven manner
  • high attention to detail, strong time management skills and the ability to juggle conflicting priorities and operate autonomously if required.
  • experience analysing data and with the ability to manipulate data and conduct analysis to provide meaningful insights and business recommendations.
  • demonstrated ability in being able to understand complex variables and be comfortable working with ambiguity
