Payroll Transition Analyst

Located in our state of the art offices in Sydney and in our offices on site in the Hunter Valley, we have a fantastic 9-month fixed term contract opportunities for Payroll Transition Analysts to join us on our exciting transformation program at AGL.

AGL is beginning a transformation journey as part of its PT3 program: new processes, new skills, new systems. For Payroll, this includes the transition to a new payroll vendor, who will provide an integrated payroll and time & attendance solution through a managed payroll service. The payrolls will have a phased “go-live” whilst in parallel, a new HCM solution, Workday, is also being implemented.

The key purpose of this role is to ensure an effective transition which maintains service levels and minimizes risk when transitioning from the SAP legacy systems to the new operating model.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

The role is responsible for assisting with interim and transition activities including understanding the flow of information into and out of payroll: documenting, testing, and training of interim processes.

The key accountabilities are as follows:

  • Understand current payroll information flow and future state requirements and implement interim processes to service the requirements
  • Analysing and mapping data into our legacy system after the new HCM solution is in place.
  • Participate in workshops on interim processes and co-ordinate testing and training prior to go-live of the new solutions
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy of payments in the SAP legacy system during the transitional phased approach of payroll.
  • assist in delivering of payroll business readiness activities by understanding the requirements of project related activities and communicating the roles and responsibilities to the BAU teams, such as parallel payroll runs

Some of the key skills required are as follows:

  • Experience in SAP Payroll in a data driven environment
  • Demonstrated strong skills around the Microsoft Office Suite
  • “Can do” attitude with the ability to analyse and solve operational issues and problems
  • Confident, effective, and professional communicator at all levels, both written and verbal
  • Collaborative, outcome focused, risk adverse and positive approach to change and issue management
