Junior Pricing Analyst


About the Role

The Value Realisation team are accountable for recommending and decision making on how market prices are represented and implemented into all retail pricing decisions. The team operates in a highly technical and complex environment and is critical to the success of Product and Pricing, Product and Marketing and Customer Markets.

Reporting to the Value Realisation Manager, the Junior Pricing Analyst is accountable for supporting a process and policy of capturing market inputs to enable price decisions. Once the process and commercial models are established the Junior Pricing Analyst will work with data specialists to automate updates and to incorporate outputs into visual software such as a tableau dashboard.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Utilise and maintain a commercial framework to assess and then recommend market price inputs into pricing decisions across Customer Markets with direct influence of >$1 billion in price inputs across Customer Markets
  • Provide recommendations and influence decision making across Product and Pricing and other business stakeholders to achieve optimal commercial and customer outcomes for Customer Markets
  • Assess the market place by providing competitor insight to the Sales and Marketing LT to influence tactical and strategic commercial considerations and decisions.
  • Develop then maintain price models to ensure a robust commercial environment is fundamental to decision making whilst also recognising tactical and strategic decisions will also contribute any overall decision.
  • Consider alternative commercial approaches by developing and gaining insight into customer behavior across the market: balancing risk and certainty
  • Commercial Management – Support the Value Realisation Manager to develop and maintain a commercial governance framework to independently and critically assess the inputs and outcomes of market pricing recommendations against expected performance, pre and post decisioning

  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement required.
  • Proven exposure to a fast paced sales and marketing environment
  • Experience across the energy industry or a like industry preferred but not essential
  • Experience in working with complex data sets
  • Demonstrated success in engaging and influencing stakeholders
