There’s never been a better time to be at AGL

It’s an extraordinary time for the energy sector. A time of complex challenges and unprecedented opportunities.

At AGL we have the scale, resources and ambition to take the lead and make real the possibilities the future holds. We’re renewing and expanding our portfolio of sources and products to make them more sustainable, reliable, affordable and useful for all Australians.

That’s what we call progress. To achieve it, we’re bringing together people with unique stories, perspectives, and talent – and we need yours too.

At AGL, we believe progress is powered by our people. Let us empower you to make a positive difference and help bring progress to life.

About the Role

The purpose of the Value Office is to provide insight and oversight across the Customer Markets plan, turning strategy in action, and shaping tomorrow.

Based within the VO, as Head of Performance Reporting and Planning you will establish and lead a team, driving them to operate at the highest levels of efficiency, producing data-led insights and working across Customer Markets to support the business in making competitive decisions.

As the custodian of Customer Markets Planning and Performance Reporting you will hold the end to end responsibility for providing core business reporting and insight. As a leader in business intelligence delivery, you will also be required to develop and implement a best practice approach to support AGL in achieving its business objectives.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Drive accountability for enabling valued business outcomes and competitive insights through high-quality Business Intelligence solutions
  • Provide a service to the broader Value Office team, through the facilitation of high-quality reporting on transformation program activities
  • Demonstrate strong business stakeholder engagement, transparency and collaboration, working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver World-class BI solutions
  • Partner closely with colleagues in Future Business & Technology to ensure delivery in alignment to technology roadmaps and strategy
  • Work with Customer Markets stakeholders to help define, develop and implement business planning processes and develop and implement best practice planning approaches

About You

To achieve success in this role you will need to be equipped with demonstrated experience operating at a senior level in both leading and implementing Business Intelligence solutions, coupled with proven expertise in business intelligence platforms, with an emphasis on SAP, Tableau and Microsoft technologies.

Additionally, you will be required to demonstrate strong skills in strategy and roadmap development that support business unit principles, processes and activities.

To be successful you’ll also have:

  • The ability to understand, describe, and optimise organisational visions and values, and translate into plan and actions to achieve those goals
  • Experience in operating with a high degree of stakeholder management skills, including strong influencing skills, with an advanced ability to influence senior groups and drive outcomes
  • Academic qualification at a tertiary (or higher) level, in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • A strong track record of leading and driving cross functional teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • Notable experience operating in similar roles gained from medium to large complex, matrix organisations

This is a unique opportunity to join this new business area from its inception in a leadership role that will support and lead a cultural shift towards operational efficiency, and a differentiated customer experience, through the creation of well-planned, data-led decisions, underpinned by meaningful data and insights.
