About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to lead the continuous improvement initiatives in financial forecasting and analysis functionality for Wholesale Markets business and to drive the technology innovation within the business.

The role would be responsible for continuously maintaining and improving the technology and systems used to produce business forecast, budget, and insights to AGL’s wholesale markets business. The role will work in a high performing team that provide finance business partnering to Wholesale markets, including wholesale electricity, wholesale gas and eco markets.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the development of system solutions for all financial forecasting and reporting models, processes and outputs.
  • Implement continuous improvements of financial forecasting system functions by working closely with the support teams.
  • Integration of reporting processes, systems and data across existing and new businesses / systems as required.
  • Involvement in system change management processes where necessary.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Wholesale Market financial objectives and targets by providing effective and value-add analysis to the Wholesale Markets Leadership Team.
  • Provide appropriate ad-hoc analytical tools to Wholesale Markets, Energy Regulation, Corporate, etc.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the Wholesale Markets strategies.
  • Lead the development of financial systems and key processes that deliver annual budgets, 3YR plan and quarterly forecasts of gross margins for wholesale electricity, wholesale gas and Eco-markets.
  • Develop management reporting and insightful analysis tools via a system solution for the Wholesale Markets financial performance to various key stakeholders within AGL.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis via data modelling in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

About you

  • If you are a senior business analyst with a strong data background looking to take that next step into management, we would love to hear from you.
  • Strong numerical analysis skills together with the ability to present complex data/concepts in a clear and easily understood manner
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple resources and a broad range of stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in data modelling with VBA, MATLAB, Tableau and/or SQL coding skills is mandatory
  • Strong MS Excel and MS Access skills
  • Extensive experience in a quantitative/analytical role
  • Tertiary qualified in a quantitative discipline- Finance, IT, Business, Data Science
  • Transactional services background would be highly regarded
  • Background in Statistics would be highly regarded
  • Industry experience in Fintech, Trading, Insurance and Retail would be highly regarded
  • Project management and system development experience would be highly regarded
