Digital Service Product Owner (Mobile Applications)


As part of the Digital Service team this role is empowered to help deliver digital service adoption by identifying value-driving opportunities across the digital experience, support, usage, billing and payments.

The Digital Service Product Owner is responsible for representing the voice of the customer and ensuring the delivery of major initiatives and features.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Own and define the vision and roadmap for a digital product, aligned to customer needs and business objectives of our mobile application.
  • Investigate new product ideas and innovations that will provide an improved customer experience and support achievement of business objectives.
  • Work with relevant members of scrum teams to ensure delivery of new initiatives supporting the attainment of business objectives and take corrective action for initiatives that are not on schedule or achieving expected business goals
  • Prioritise and maintain the product backlog based on desirability, viability and feasibility to ensure there is shaped work ready for development teams at all times.
  • Design, prototype, develop and test new product features and initiatives in collaboration with user experience and customer journey teams.
  • Track and report on success metrics for newly launched product features and provide timely updates on the progress of new initiatives.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A delivery focused mindset with the ability to work under pressure and mean tight timelines with mobile application experience being highly regarded
  • Experience working and operating in a DevOps model to be responsible for ensuring any issues impacting customer experience are resolved quickly
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills across diverse teams with the ability to influence being highly regarded.
  • Extensive digital product management experience, including the ability to identify new customer needs, develop these into a product roadmap and feature backlog working in an agile environment.
  • Comfortable playing a leadership role, including leading workshops, in a co-located cross functional business and IT team through the discovery, development and operational usage stages of product development.
  • Solid understanding of using digital analytics to understand customer behavior and make data driven decisions to increase customer engagement and digital usage.
