Cybersecurity Advisor


About the Role

In this role you will consult with our business and platform teams to enable them to consider the security in their work as well as provide advice of how to operate securely. You will lead the implementation of cybersecurity strategy into everyday operations and in turn transform our cybersecurity landscape to help AGL become more cyber resilient. You'll be looked to as a credible source of information, have the ability to provide positive security advice and cyber security education.

You will contribute to driving AGL's security vision by:

  • Engaging AGL’s business units to provide cyber advisory services to lower the overall risk profile.
  • Using a consultative approach to identify/assess risks from an IT csecurity and business perspective.
  • Communicating security strategies, positioning plans for building security capability as well as assisting business units and platform owners to develop security maturity.
  • Using strong and effective thought leadership, strategic thinking and effective communication to both technical and business stakeholders to influence cybersecuirty attitudes.

Note: Some travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, build and maintain highly effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the key communication conduit between security teams and business units.
  • Take action to educate and to raise security awareness of cyber security as required.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and key people across AGL to provision expert cybersecurity advice and assist in avoiding duplication of effort/expense.
  • Maintain situational awareness of cyber security issues through our SOC and operations teams, whilst taking appropriate action to keep business leaders in AGL informed.

About You

  • Certified Information Security professional or experience with Cybersecurity as part of an ICT role.
  • Expert knowledge/experience in Cybersecurity and/or ICT Security policy.
  • A proven track record of understanding the business context of cybersecurity risks within an organisation.
  • You'll be confident in building business relationships with key stakeholders and take pride in the quality of your work.
  • Sound working knowledge of frameworks, processes and methodologies that contribute to excellent client engagement.
  • Must have proven delivery experience. Experience in roles such as Programme Manager, Architect, or as a Customer Relationship Manager / Service Delivery Manager will be beneficial for this position.
