Commercial Analyst – Program Benefits Realisation

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a business analyst with experience working in consulting, strategy transformation environments to join the AGL team in one of Australia’s largest corporate change and innovation programs.

Technology is enabling AGL’s transformation programs and it’s important that we work collaboratively, as ‘one tribe’ to achieve results.

The role supports the end to end Benefits Management approach by providing governance, from initial Benefits estimation through to reporting of actual Benefits, and operating a Performance Dashboard utilized by the Program Leadership team and business unit General Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Portfolio Executive, this role will be responsible for the delivery and execution of a number of deliverables including:

  • Developing strong relationships with the benefit owners and Program Managers to strategically and successfully monitor the portfolio progress against the roadmap and milestones; ensuring changes to the roadmap preserve overall value creation within the portfolio
  • Providing analytical support and reporting on actual realised benefits against targets, and forecast at a portfolio, value stream and initiative level
  • Contributing to the strategic initiatives including identifying opportunity within current stream of work and further market opportunity
  • Maintenance and updating of the Benefits Approach reference documentation and Confluence pages
  • Hands-on assistance and involvement with the implementation of the approach across the portfolio

About You

With your demonstrated previous experience in an advanced strategy and business insights role, some of your core competencies include:

  • Corporate change strategy and business insights exposure, with experience utilising analytics to size the opportunities and commercial viability of projects in a transformation environment
  • Ability to perform financial analysis and build dashboards and performance measurement tools utilised by senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience using business analytics to demonstrate the commercial viability of projects in a transformation environment
  • A market-facing mind, ensuring you stay across industry or market trends and using analytics to gain insight into commercial opportunities
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with modern project management techniques
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a complex, fast changing environment
  • Great communication and influencing skills and be able to develop positive relationships with key stakeholders
