Buyers


AGL’s Purchasing Services Team is responsible for a broad range of services. As a Buyer, you will be a key member of a team involved in the tender, quotation and purchase of products and services that are vital to the day to day operation of a major power generation plant.

You will perform key functions as a Commodities, Rotables or Projects & Outages buyer, ensuring efficient procurement of essential goods and services to support daily maintenance and operation activities in a high-volume environment.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • procure a broad range of goods and services, with a particular focus on either Commodities, Rotables or Projects & Outages, as best suits your skills
  • perform a high rate of PO creation and management
  • establish and maintain supplier relationships, including development of contractual terms and fixed terms pricing agreements
  • coordinate with internal and external customers on matters relating to procurement and supplier evaluation
  • ensure the effective integration of procurement service delivery and AGL Macquarie’s maintenance activities

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • previous purchasing experience in a heavy industry environment
  • qualifications in business or procurement will be highly regarded
  • skills in MS Office product suite and experience with an integrated procurement system such as SAP
  • the ability to plan and organize work to meet timeframes
  • broad problem solving and communication skills
  • the ability to work independently and within a team environment
