Senior Water Resource Engineer (Drainage design)

Job Summary

Due to recent project wins and general growth the Water Resources team are seeking a Senior Engineer with experience across Drainage Design to join their Sydney based team looking after projects across NSW and ACT.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Detailed design of stormwater drainage systems preferably with demonstrated major infrastructure experience

  • Experience in designing to the RMS, TfNSW, Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains standards / requirements

  • Experience of working in multi discipline design and/or project teams; including managing the interdependencies of various internal design stakeholders e.g. roads /rail, utilities, earthworks, drafting etc.

  • Technical mentor to younger professional engineers.

  • Ability to prepare methodologies and estimate associated effort in delivery.

Minimum Requirements

  • More than five years of experience in the water resources industry including the private and/or public sectors

  • Core technical skills associated with the analysis and design of stormwater drainage systems for major infrastructure projects

  • High proficiency in 12D and DRAINS software, combined with experience in a variety of supporting industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages i.e. WBNM, RAFTS, HEC-RAS and MUSIC

  • The ability to utilise GIS and familiarity with 3D modelling software.

  • Strong client focus

  • Strong analytical technical report writing skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and verbal communications abilities

  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree civil and/or environmental engineering (focused on stormwater engineering), or demonstrate equivalent.
