Job Summary

AECOMs Transport Advisory team provides a strategic function for the wider business, not only locally in Perth but also across Australia. The team also forms part of the wider international group providing strategic planning and broad thinking to some of the most challenging and complex projects globally.

As part of AECOM ANZ’s wider growth strategy, we are seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our well-regarded team to deliver innovative transport solutions to shape Perth @ 3.5 million. As part of our advisory team, you will;

  • Contribute to the planning and design of a large range of projects including major Government infrastructure and strategic planning projects, private developer focused schemes and masterplanning
  • Provide leadership and strong technical capabilities to deliver design and strategic planning advice on multimodal transport, freight, public transport, cycling and pedestrian studies and design, including contribution to business cases.
  • Assist with identifying new business opportunities and pro-actively keep abreast with developments in your area of technical interest.
  • You will work in a dynamic team environment alongside planners, engineers, modellers, economists and designers.
  • Contribute to technological innovations to develop and communicate our solutions
  • Have an opportunity to work with individuals who have worked across the globe on varied projects and continue to or begin your journey into mentoring junior team members
  • Have strong project management skills to deliver projects on budget and on time for client as well as AECOM as a business.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary inputs to a vast array and size of project.

Our projects are varied, they include passenger rail, light rail, bus transit planning, significant highway and major road upgrades projects, port and freight, development projects and masterplanning. You will work with a wide range of public and private clients across industry sectors to contribute to innovative and market leading solutions.

You will deliver transport planning expertise to our important local clients and have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams across Australia and internationally. We have and will continue to enjoy collaborative relationships with our clients, where we employ and emphasis on pushing the boundary of the solution and ultimate design to realise our client’s aspirations.

Minimum Requirements

  • A strong technical background with demonstrable experience in integrated land use and transport planning studies and design of multi-modal, public transport, cycle / pedestrian and freight networks as well as stakeholder engagement and liaison.
  • Experience in transportation planning and assessments for small, medium and major developments, including development of travel plans and parking strategies.
  • Experience in delivering robust business cases
  • An awareness of the local market and ability to understand and work with client needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in a related field such as planning, Engineering or geography
  • Minimum 8 years relevant professional experience
